    Saturday, November 14, 1840, Daily National Intelligencer (Washington (DC), District of Columbia): "On the 29th ultimo, in Philadelphia, Dr. SAMUEL J. CRAMER, Clerk of the county of Jefferson, Virginia, in the 62d year of his age, a native of Ireland (whence he emigrated about 40 years ago) and highly esteemed as an accomplished gentleman, and a most exemplary one in all his domestic and social relations."

    Ambrose Cramer names his late son Samuel J. Cramer in his will dated 1841.
