    "150. Samuel3 Cowles, son of Samuel3 (22); b. March 12, 1706 at Hatfield, Mass.; d. Feb. 22, 1762 at Norfolk, Conn. (gravestone); … By the terms of his father's will, dated Apr. 17, 1744, proved at Northampton, Mass., Sept. 11, 1750, he inherited all of his father's lands and tenements in Coventry, Conn., and was a resident of Coventry at the date of the will. He was in Burlington, Conn., 1754; Harwinton, Conn., 1755; Simsbury, Conn., 1756; Norfolk, Conn., 1758, where he joined in a petition for town privileges, or incorporation, Sept. 21, 1758; was a member of the first town meeting, Dec. 12, 1758, and was chosen as surveyor of highways; member of a committee Oct. 8, 1759; original member of the church there Dec. 24, 1760, and he and his wife Abigail were communicants in 1761. In his will, proved at Litchfield. Conn., April 6, 1762, he mentions wife Abigail, and children Abigail, Eunice, Joseph and Ebenezer."
