Samuel Cowles, son of John2 (3), born May 27, 1673, at Hatfield, Mass., died there Aug. 13, 1750 (tombstone), from injuries received by a fall from a cart; … Mr. Samuel Cowles resided at Hatfield, Mass. In his will dated April 17, 1744, probated at Northampton, Mass., Sept. 11, 1750, signed Samuell Coles, he gives to his wife Sarah; to son Samuel Cole of Coventry in the Colony of Connecticut, all of his lands and tenements in said county; to his son Ebenezer Coles, lands, etc., in Hatfield and Hadley; to Mary Amsden and her daughter Violet, money; to daughters Sarah, wife of Timothy Coles and Elizabeth, wife of Charles Hoar, certain household goods.
