Samuel2 Collins (Edward1, JohnA-B) was baptized in Framlingham, Suffolk, on 2 August 1636, died in Middletown, Connecticut, on 10 January 1695/6, aged 59, and was buried in Riverside (also called MacDonough) Cemetery, Middletown. … Samuel2 emigrated with his parents from England to Cambridge, Massachusetts, in 1638. He visited his brother John2 in Scotland in 1658. Samuel moved to Middletown about 1665, where he was an early settler. He and his brother Nathaniel2 were admitted freemen on 9 May 1667. Probate of Samuel’s estate was begun in Middletown after January 1695/6."

    "Ensign Samuel (Collins), of Cambridge and of Middletown, Conn., b. in England about 1635; brought by his parents to New England; d at Middletown 10 Jan. 1695/6, aged 60; m. Mary Marvin, bapt. at Great Bentley, co. Essex, Eng., 23 Oct. 1636, d. at Middletown 5 Mar. 1713/14, daughter of Reynold and Mary Marvin, later of Lyme (then a part of Saybrook), Conn. See Register, vol. 62, p. 304 (July 1908). Mary, wife of Samuel Collins, was admitted to full communion with the church at Cambridge 31 May 1664. Samuel Collins went to Scotland in 1658, when his brother John was at Edinburgh, but soon returned to New England. He probably resided in Cambridge until 1664, when he moved to Saybrook and soon afterwards to Middletown. He was a representative in 1672."

He went to Scotland in 1658, while his brother John was at Edinburgh, but came back soon, and was casually at Cambridge, 1675, and Charlestown, 1678, otherwise he resided mostly at Middletown. He had lands recorded at Middletown, Feb. 28, 1667; and on Mch. 22, 1670, had a list of £58. He was Representative in 1672."
