Samuel Burtchfield arrived in Baltimore County, Maryland in 1662 from England. Francis Riggs paid for his voyage. Francis Riggs was the First Banker of Maryland. This documentation is found in the Hall of Records in Annanapolis, MD. Samuel was made an indentured servent for five years. He served his time and was released. After his release, Samuel claimed land in Anne Arundel County, Maryland.
