[edit] OriginsSamuel's parents emigrated to New England when he was one and a half years old. [edit] Life in New EnglandHis family lived in Cambridge and after his father died in 1642, his mother remarried and the family moved to Woburn. He became a landowner after reaching adulthood. He was Deputy to the General Court of Massachusetts Colony in 1691. He served as Selectman, commissioner of rates and other offices at various times. Ch: Ruth, Samuel, Thomas, Susanna, Sarah. Blackman and Allied Families, p. 50 Samuel Blogget, son of Thomas and Susanna Blogget, was born in ENgland about 1633, and came to this side with is parents. He went to Woburn early to reside and married there, Dec. 13, 1655 (Woburn Vital Records, 3-17), Ruth Eggleton, who was born in England, and died in Woburn Oct. 14, 1703 (Ibid, 2-15.) Her mother, Jane, married (1) _____ Eggleton; (2) James Britton; (3) Isaac Cole, and she died in Woburn, Mar. 10, 1687. Samuel and Ruth (Eggleton) Blogget had 7 children, one of them a daughter Sarah, born in Woburn, Feb. 17, 1667-8, who married Dea. John Heywood.
