▼Facts and Events
This site is set up with the intention of allowing all members of the various Bechdel, Bechtel, Beachdel, Beightol, Beightle, etc families to share genealogy, photos, addresses, news etc. PLEASE join and share in any way you'd like, for you never know who will give you the one lead or piece of information you perhaps have been looking.. This is YOUR SITE. Some History: Christian BAECHTOLD married Anna Meyer- Moyer in the 1600's, from them many descend in America today. The Bechdel/Bechtel link: Christian BECHDEL/ BECHTEL/ BEACHTEL and Maria Schneider came from York County Pennsylvania to Centre County Pennsylvania in 1790 along with the Michael Schenk and Frederick Pletcher families. Christian was a son to Samuel BECHTEL of Manheim Township in York County Pa. Also in this site we follow six Bechtels :Hans Jacob Bechtel of Ringing Rocks, Abraham Bechtel of Clayton, Rev, John Bechtel, Germantown, Christopher Bechtel, Exeter Twp, PA, John George Bechtel of Pottstown, and one known as George the Immigrant from Bally, and all from Pennsylvania, west of Philiadelphia, and in the Reading and surrounding area's. Although we are also sure, there were other Bechtel's that arrived during the following years, little information is known, but all is still not lost. Through this site, and a lot of work we hope to determine where more into this wonderful family tree. In a little over 3 years we have linked over 330 Bechtel's into the above lines, and to where we know there are thousands still out there to find. Now to try to determine who belongs with whom..... Most Sincerely, Leanne Keefer Bechdel and Judy Bechtel Gilson Moderators of the Bechdel\Bechtel Family Site Eichelberger, and George Weiss.
