1850 - Butcher living in North Lopham when he married, aged 23. 1851 - Living on the Green, North Lopham with wife and one son. Butcher employing one boy. 1854-81 - Licensee of the King's Head, North Lopham, also farmer and butcher. (Norfolk Pubs) 1874 - Was joint executor, with his mother in law, for the will of Robert Womack (his father-in-law). Proved at Principal Registry on 16 November. 1881 - Widowed. Living at the King's Head Public House on the Green, North Lopham, with two sons and two servants. Butcher and farmer employing others. 1891 - Widowed and living on The Green, North Lopham. Grandson Harold Beales, aged 7, included in his household, with two domestic servants. Butcher and farmer master, employing others. 1897 - Granted, jointly with Charles Brown, farmer, probate for the will of his brother Stephen Beales. 1903 - Died, aged 78, farmer and butcher. Buried alone. The MI survey done by the Womens Institute incorrectly records the year as 1905. Death registered in the Registration district Thetford in the Counties of Norfolk and Suffolk. Died 30 June 1903 at North Lopham. Samuel Beales, male aged 78 years, occupation farmer and butcher. Cause of death: Heart disease, thrombosis and paralysis, exhaustion. Certified by W D Adams MB.
