- In 1760, Samuel Baker "for and in consideration of the sum of Two Thousand and four hundred pounds" paid by John Baker of Warwick, sold him a 50 acre tract of land in Exeter. "Abigail Baker the wife of Samuel Baker" willingly yielded up her "right of dower and power of thirds" in the land and premises.
- On 5 Sep. 1783, Oliver Partridge of Hatfield, VT "in consideration that Samuel Baker of Halifax performed the settling duty on the lot. #54 in Hallifax" released and quitclamed to Samuel 1/2 of Lot #54 (100 acres). On 29 Mar. 1784, Samuel, John, Peleg and Amos Baker, together with John Stanton were "warned out" of Shaftsbury, VT by order of Constable Nathan Wheeler. On 15 June 1786 yeoman Samuel Baker of Black Creek, NY "for and in consideration of the sum of Sixty Pounds" sold and quitclaimed John Baker of Black Creek, NY, 50 acres of Lot #54 in Halifax. Samuel and John both gave their place of residence as Black Creek, NY which in 1787 became Hebron, NY. The minutes of the 1 April 1788 town meeting at Hebron, NY, record that the people made choice of Samuel Baker as a "Path Master". Both Samuel and John Baker are listed in the 1790 and 1800 Federal Census for Hebron.
- On Sept. 12, 1774 Samuel wrote a short letter from Halifax to his sister Susanna Sunderland "Executrix to Mother's Estate" concerning their mother, Susanna Stanton's bequest to Samuel in her will.
