    "8. Samuel1 Ayers and Abigail Fellows were married in Ipswich, 16 Apr., 1677 (Ct. R.). It is probable that they resided in that part of Rowley now Byfield Parish. They were admitted to Rowley Church, 13 Oct., 1700. 1710 'Samuel Ayers, slayn by ye Indians at Winter Harbor' (Ch. R.). He died intestate, and no one taking administration on his estate, on the complaint of a creditor, citation was issued 28 Nov., 1713, to Widow Abigail and her sons, Samuel and John. 30 Nov., 1713, Abigail Ayers, Samuel Ayers, and John Ayers refuse to take administration. (Essex Probate). James Tenney of Rowley, by deed, dated 22 Feb., 1703-4, conveys to Samuel Ayers, Sr., and Samuel Ayers, Jr., both of Rowley, a right in Rowley that was granted by the town to his father Thomas Tenney, deceased (Essex Deeds, 18:35)."
