27 Aug 1735: Inventory of Samuel Allen jun'r Late of Bridgwater Decesed: £48=2=0 by Ebenezer Allden, John Orcutt, Charles Latham. Sworn to 4 Mar 1735/36 by administrator Joseph Byram.
[No further documents in either file: the following documents are found in record books. Some items in docket 324 clearly belong to the father being dated 1750 (i.e., case 325), long after the son's insolvent estate appears complete (an inventory totaling £558 vol. 12, p. 23, and a distribution of real estate Vol. 11, p. 473).]
Vol. 7, p. 174 Mar 1735[/36] following recording of inventory: "Necessary Utensils to [blank] Allen Relict Widow of Samuel Allen j'r Late of Bridgewater in ye County of Plym'o Deceased", totaling £16=5=6.
Vol. 7, p. 302 undated: return of commissioners examining claims against Estate of Samuel Allen late of Bridgewater Deceased, includes £23=16=01 to "Doctor Joseph Byram's Bill in s'd Allens last Sickness", "Recording ye Inventory & widows thirds".

  3.   Note: clearly the probate shows Samuel was married but no information is known even about his wife's given name, children, or marriage date. Since the estate is insolvent the probate contains no list of heirs (the widow would get her thirds, but no distribution to any children, or siblings if there were no children, would occur). Samuel's father explicitly named two grandchildren in his 1736 will, Samuel Allen and Abigail Waldo. These may be children of this Samuel but no birth record or any other evidence has been found. Abigail Waldo, in particular, is usually listed as a child of the father which the will shows to be an error. She was born about 1705-1715 based on her marriage in 1730, and having her possible father be deceased which might explain a bequest directly to a grandchild, Samuel would have been old enough to have been her father.
