OBITUARY: "Geneva Times," Wednesday, February 25, 1891. SALLY AUSTIN WATERMAN. Mrs. Sally Austin Waterman was born Oct. 22, 1808 at Fishkill, New York; in 1810 with her parents moved to Ohio, being seven weeks on the road, and located at Geneva, Ohio 25 December 1828, she married to Laban Waterman. About the year 1828 she with her husband united with the Ist Baptist Church at Madison. She was a consistent Christian, ever ready to battle against all forms of infidelity, a diligent searcher of the Scriptures, a kind and affectionate mother, an excellent neighbor always ready to help in sickness, sorrow or death. She died on the 19th inst. Funeral was held at home where she had lived with her husband until his death nearly 62 years. She leaves seven children, four sons and three daughters. 1. ARTHUR, 2. Hager, Ph.D. 114.Arthur Waterman came from Rhode Island to Madison, arriving in August, 1813. An ox-team with a horse hitched ahead formed the motive power. He located on the farm now occupied by his youngest son, John H. He took up two hundred acres. The family who came with him were a wife and ten children; two were born subsequent to their arrival in Ohio. Of this extensive family the following now reside in Madison: Labin, married Sally Austin; Phebe, married Luther Winchell; Lucy, married James Lewis; and John H., who married Eme-line St. John. Mr. Waterman died October 9, 1830. Mrs. Waterman deceased November 15, 1861. History of Geauga and Lake Counties, p. 233-lc.
