2007 - Niagara Gazette, Obituary: Ruth Buttery, aged 89, of Ransomville, died Monday, January 29, 2007, in Inter-Community Memorial Hospital, Newfane, after a lengthy illness. Mrs Buttery was born July 13, 1917, in Hemlock, NY, the daughter of the late Benjamin and Ruth (Randell) Sutherland. She was a 1935 graduate of Niagara Falls High School and has resided in the Ransomville area for over 70 years. For a short time she was employed by the Model City Canning Factory. Ruth married Donald A. Buttery on July 18, 1970. She enjoyed camping, snowmobiling, and vacationing in Florida. She is survived by her husband, Donald; a son, George (Darcy) Perry of Ransomville; a step-son, Daniel (Valerie) Buttery, of Lewiston; a step-daughter, Deborah Ross of Pieoria, AZ; a sister, Bernice Axtel, of Lewiston; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Kenneth Sievert; a daughter, Elma Chestnut; a step-son, Donald Buttery, Jr; three sisters, Dorothy Clark, Alberta Davison, and Olive; and two brothers, Donald and Benjamin Sutherland.... Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 1, at 11:00 AM in the [Hardison] funeral home, with the Rev John Wetherwax officiating. Burial will follow in the North Ridge Cemetery, Church Rd, Town of Cambria.
