    Ruth Marie Summers, 87, peacefully passed away at Kolob Care Center in St. George, Utah, on April 26, 2012.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice C. Summers, and a son, Michael C. Summers.

    She is survived by a son, Marvin Summers, Sr., and daughter-in-law, Barbara Witherow Summers, of San Diego, Calif.; a grandson, Marvin Summers, Jr., Irvine, Calif., and a granddaughter, Jackie Richardson, Kansas City, Mo.; and two brothers, Everett Slagle, Pella, Iowa, and Dan Slagle, Wabash.

    Ruth's love of music led her to establish and direct the Coral Choir at the EUB Church in Warsaw in the 1960s. She was later the organist and secretary at the Congregational Church in Mt. Dora, Fla.

    She will be interred at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego with her late husband.
