CALDWELL - Ruth E. Boyd, 65, of County Road 2, Caldwell, died at 11:20 a.m. Monday (Jan. 13, 2003) at her home.

She was born Feb. 20, 1937, in Center Township, Ohio, to Ewell and Clara Elsie Brothers Smith. She was a member of the Caldwell High School, Class of 1955. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elden Boyd; her parents; and one sister, Barbara L. Smith.

She is survived by one daughter, Susan Ewing and her husband, Jody, of East Hampton, N.Y.; one son, Jeff Boyd of Caldwell; two granddaughters, Jaclyn and Elissa Ewing; one sister, Clara Edith Smith of Caldwell; and a special friend, Dale Hanson of Beverly Route 1.

Services are at 1 p.m. Thursday at Murphy-McCurdy Funeral Home in Caldwell with the Rev. Gary Fitzgerald officiating. Burial is in Sharon Cemetery in Sharon, Ohio. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
