   ACKER Ruth (Owen) Acker, age 85, of Upper Arlington, died Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. She was born in Barbour County, WV on July 2, 1921. Ruth is survived by her husband of 28 years, Otto G. Acker; son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Vickie Owen of Cincinnati, OH; grandchildren, Stephen Owen of Bloomfield Hills, MI, Katherine Owen of St. Louis, MO and Jennifer Owen of Cincinnati, OH; step-children, Gary Acker and Shirley (James) Britt, all of Columbus; grandchildren, Danielle Garges of Barto, PA, Jamie (Katy) Britt, Lydia (David) De Carlo; great grandchildren, Grant and Ryan Garges, Madeline Belle Britt. She was preceded in death by her mother Lucinda Harden and her first husband Charles W. Owen Jr. Ruth attended University High School. She was a past member of Crestview Presbyterian Church and a member of Columbus Maennerchor Damen Sektion. Ruthie enjoyed traveling and loved "her cats". Memorial Service will be held 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2006 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, where family will receive friends after 10:30 a.m. Wednesday until time of service. Rev. Richard Match officiating. Private inurnment Union Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Capital Area Humane Society, 3015 Scioto Darby Executive Court, Hilliard, OH 43026, or to a charity of your choice, in her memory.
