Obituary

VENEDOCIA, Ohio — Ruth E. “Becky” Zirkle, 95, of Venedocia, died at 9:58 p.m. Friday, March 18, 2016, at Van Wert County Hospital, Van Wert, Ohio. She was born Aug. 13, 1920, in Van Wert, to the late Mary Eleanor (Callahan) Faller and Ira Faller.

Her husband, Robert P. Zirkle, preceded her in death.

Survivors include one child: Jean Ringwald, Van Wert, and a grandchild: David Ringwald, Belvidere, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, James R. “Dick” Ringwald, a brother: Wilbur “Tiny” Faller, and two sisters: Esther Placke and Margaret Keltner.

She was a homemaker and a member of Salem Presbyterian Church, Venedocia. She was also a member of the Women’s Assn, Alpha Kappa Class, Hand Bell Choir and was former secretary, all of the church. She was a member of the Van Wert Eastern Star, National Hay Assn, served as a former 4-H advisor for Venedocia Lads & Lassies and formerly on the 4-H Council.

Services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, March 25, 2016, at Salem Presbyterian Church, Venedocia. The Rev. Thomas Emery will officiate. Burial will take place at a later date at Venedocia Cemetery, Venedocia.

Visitation is 2-7 p.m. Thursday, March 24, 2016, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert.

Preferred memorials may be directed to Salem Presbyterian Church.
