- ↑ Ruth's probate file does not indicate when her will was proved or an inventory taken. Source:Buck, Byron. Isaac Buck (C.1620-1695) of Scituate, Plymouth Colony, p. 44 says she died "1717 ae. ca. 64", suggesting this is all speculation based on the will date. What can be said with some confidence is that she died before 25 Apr 1725, the date her son's estate was settled with no mention of her. It is possible she died several years earlier but no evidence has been found, and her will doesn't indicate she was in poor health.
The probate file of her husband (Plymouth probate 8450) appears to contain her son's probate as well. It is a little confusing because the settlement refers to Ruth, Jael and Mary as daughters, making it appear to be a division of the father's real estate, but the account of the administrator, Ruth's husband Joseph Wade, indicates it is the estate of his brother, making it appear to be a division of the son's real estate. That last seems most likely given this is 10 years after the father's probate, with an administrator appointed, and a separate inventory. In either event, one would expect widow Ruth to be mentioned if she was living, and she is not.
