TAG, Vol. 24, p. 106, "Abigail Buck, Wife of Nathaniel Harlow and Mary Buck, Wife of Allerton Cushman", by Mrs. John E. Barclay: "The son James2 Buck, born July 17, 1665 (Scituate Vital Records) is the only child whose birth record has been found. He died before his father leaving issue; ... James may have married by 1686, and there is a deed which shows he died 1689-90. If his widow's name was Abigail, she could have been the Abigail Buck who married Nathaniel Harlow in 1691."
[Scituate VRs, Vol. 1, p. 60: Actually says: BUCK, "Debora, d. Isack, July 17, 1665". See also, handwritten record ]here[, (p. 26, 16th record).]
TAG, Vol. 25, p. 153, "The Children of Nathaniel2 Harlow", by Mrs. John E. Barclay: "It is certain that Nathaniel Harlow married Abigail3 Church, daughter of Nathaniel2, proof of which may be found in the settlement of her father's estate (Plymouth Probate, 3:20). She probably married first, James2 Buck (Isaac1), and as Abigail Buck, widow and not "Miss," married second Nathaniel Harlow (Plympton V.R.)."
[Plympton VRs, p. 328, have an entry added by town clerk Lewis Bradford between 1812 and 1851 that says "Miss", "as appears by Plymouth Town Records", but neither published version of Plymouth VRs nor transcription found in MD, ]Vol. 13, p. 205[, say either "widow" or "Miss".]
[Conclusion: Barclay's specification of birth in 1665 appears incorrect, hence so would be Torrey. Based on eldest son Thomas b. 1655, James as second son probably born earlier than 1665.]
