Ruby Mallett, age 89, of Springfield, Arkansas, passed away Friday, October 3, 2008. She was born June 1, 1919, in Morrilton, Arkansas, a daughter of David Jones and Winnie Pearl Hawkins Jones. She was an Elementary School Teacher, member of Mallettown Methodist Church, and the widow of Thurman Mallett. Survivors include her son and his wife, Joe and Teresa Mallett of Conway; three sisters, Marguerite Long of Columbus, Mississippi, Dorothy Francis of Sherwood, and Martha Black of Mountain Pine, Arkansas; one brother, Leon Jones of Blytheville; three grandchildren, Matt Mallett and wife Meghan of Conway, Sarah Hefley and husband Troy of Conway, and Mark Mallett of Conway; four great-grandchildren, Caleb, Ashleigh, Bryce, and Brody Mallett, all of Conway. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 6, 2008, at the Harris Chapel with Les Ledbetter officiating. Burial will be at Mallettown Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. The family will receive friends from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday, October 5, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mallettown Methodist Church, 274 Town Circle, Springfield, Arkansas 72157, or St. Joseph School Endowment, 1315 College Avenue, Conway, Arkansas 72034.
