Roy Thompson
Private funeral services will be held Monday at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home for Roy Thompson, 81, 4890 Myrtle Ave, who died Friday at 1:55 p.m. in St. Joseph Riverside Hospital after a long illness.
There are no calling hours.
He was born March 30, 1901, in Pennsylvania, the son of Eugene and Minnie (Frantz) Thompson.
A resident here most of his life, he retired in 1961 from United Telephone Co., where he had been employed 37 years. Mr. Thompson was a member of St. William Catholic Church and the Independent Telephone Pioneers Association.
Survivors include his wife, Madeline E. Strobel Thompson, whom he married Oct. 27, 1901 <sic>; a stepson, Thomas H. Plaisted of Warren; four grandchildren and seven greatgrandchildren. He had 12 brothers and sisters.
Burial will be at All Souls Cemetery.
The family requests that material tributes take the form of contributions to the church building fund.
