The Evening Independent, Massillon, Ohio, 4 January 1971: "Greenshields to celebrate anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Roy Greenshield of 4112 Fairgrove Ave SW, Richville, who will celebrate their silver wedding anniversary, Monday, Jan. 11 will be honored at an open house, Saturday evening from 8 to 10 in the Riohville Community center. All friends and relatives are invited to attend. ,* * * HOSTS AND HOSTESSES for the anniversary event will be their children and their sons-in-law and daughters-in- law, Mr. and Mrs. Edward (Mary) King of Canton, Mr- and Mrs. James Hauenstein, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Greenshield, jr,. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald (May) Alaback, Mr. and Mrs. John (Velda) Kracker and Mr. and Mrs. John (Betti) Bonk, all of Massillon. Mr. and Mrs. Greenshield were married Jan. 11, 1946 in Pomeroy. Mr. Greenshield has been employed 41 years by the, Enduro division of the Repub-' lie Steel Corp. Mrs. Greenshield 1 served as manager of the cafeteria of Richville school for 16 years. The couple attends Rich- wile United Church of Christ. They enjoy traveling and outdoor sports. Mrs. Greenshield ( is active in church work and inj the Perry grange. The couple' has 13 grandchildren." Obituary: Roy B. Greenshield age 91 of Richville died Monday evening in Country Lawn Nursing Home. Born November 22, 1909 in Randolph, OH to the late Walter and Nora Greenshield. He was an avid bowler and was retired from Republic Steel after 42 years of service. Preceded in death by his wife Helen Greenshield, one daughter Mary Ann King, one son Jim Hauenstein, two sisters Grace Fleshman and Goldie Wise and two brothers Forest and Carl Greenshield. Survivors include four children Roy Greenshield Jr. of Navarre, May Alaback of Oklahoma, Velda DeRuggiero of Canton and Betti Boyer of Coshocton, OH. There are 16 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and three sisters and brother in law Marian Brooks of Brimfield, OH; Dorothy and Bud Sours of FL; and Betty Wolverton of Akron, OH also surviving. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday at 11:00 AM in the Reed Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rosehill Memorial Park. Calling hours in the funeral home Thursday 7-9 PM. |
