Roy was born in Moline, Ks. and graduated from high school there in 1933. He went to work for Kansas Gas and Electric Co. in Wichita the following fall as a truck driver, working up to a foreman of a line crew. He took time out to serve in the U.S. Navy between Oct., 1943, and Jan. 1946. Most of this time was spent on an L.C.I. (Landing Craft Infantry) in the Phillippines and in Shanghai, China. He now resides at 3130 E. Clark, Wichita, Ks. Maxine was he daughter of Will and Jennie Gibbons of Howard, Ks. She graduated from Howard High School and American Business College, Wichita. She is presently employed as a school secretary .
