ROWLAND OWEN lived in Llunllo in the Parish of Machynlleth.

Rowland was married to ELIZABETH PUGH, the daughter of RICHARD PUGH and GAYNOR THOMAS.

Rowland was mayor of Machynlleth in 1597 and 1610. He also served as High Sheriff of County Montgomery in 1611 as well as Magistrate in 1611 and1625.

In his will granted land to his son Thomas, and also to his son Richard, "Master of Arts." He was buried in his own "Chancel" in the Church of St. Asaph and left a large bequest for repairing the ancient structure.
