Kentucky Reviewing marriage records & Warren County Court Order Book 1 for Rowland, he was alive in May 1799 to consent to his daughter's marriage in Mercer Co but by 2 Jul 1799 he was replaced as Surveyor by EM Covington. So Rowland may have died sometime in Jun 1799. Rowland had died by 8 Jan 1800: see Order Book 1. |

W. Chapline Clerk." This may be why a death date of 1802 is often associated with Rowland Madison.
