Kentucky Reviewing marriage records & Warren County Court Order Book 1 for Rowland, he was alive in May 1799 to consent to his daughter's marriage in Mercer Co but by 2 Jul 1799 he was replaced as Surveyor by EM Covington. So Rowland may have died sometime in Jun 1799. Rowland had died by 8 Jan 1800: see Order Book 1. |

"Whereas the County Court of Warren directed the Shefiff [sic] to take the estate of Rowland Madison, deceased into his possession I do hereby certify that there is no property belonging to the said estate within my knowledge given under my hand this 19th day of Oct. 1802. W. Chapline Clerk." This may be why a death date of 1802 is often associated with Rowland Madison.
