    Rowena R. Naus Koch, 88, of Wapakoneta and formerly of Lima and Harrod, died Friday, June 7, 2002 in the Wapakoneta Manor Nursing Home.

    She was born March 24, 1914 in Lima, the daughter of Scarfie V. and Ruth Margaret (Crumrine) Oswald.
    On June 15, 1931 she married Roger H. Naus and he died December 2, 1953. On April 6, 1958 she married Frederick J. "Fritz" Koch, who survives in Wapakoneta.

    Other survivors include one son, Roger J. (Mary Jo) Naus of Shreveport, LA; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert E. Oswald of Lima and Thomas H. (Martha) Oswald of Lima; one sister, Mrs. Henry (Dorothy) Popkin of Lima and one sister-in-law, Lona Oswald of Ft. McCoy, FL.

    She was preceded in death by two brothers, Roger Lee Oswald and Donald M. Oswald.

    Mrs. Koch was owner and operator from 1937-1945 of the Naus Community Market in Harrod and worked as a buyer from 1945-1971 for The Leader Store in Lima. She graduated from Lima South High School.

    She was a former member of the Wesley United Methodist Church and a member of the Uniopolis United Methodist Church, where she was treasurer. She was a member of the United Methodist Women's Society and a volunteer with the Wapakoneta Visiting Nurses Association. She was a member of the Uniopolis Volunteer Firemen's Ladies Auxiliary and the Uniopolis Historical Society.
    In 1970 she became a member of Lima Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and in 1990 became a life member. Mrs. Koch had volunteered 14,201 1/2 hours with Lima Memorial Hospital with most of those hours in the emergency room.

    Funeral services were held June 10, in the Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville, with the Rev. David Gordon officiating.

    Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima.

    In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Uniopolis United Methodist Church, Lima Memorial Hospital Auxiliary of the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
