Obituary Rosanna Flory (nee Overholser) was born May 16, 1828 in Montgomery Co., Ohio. Died July 7 1906, aged 78, 1 month and 21 days. She was married to David Flory in 1846, who preceded her to the better land 18 years ago. to this union were born ten children, five sons and five daughters: two sons and one daughter precede her to the better land. She leaves three sons, four daughters, twenty-three grand children, six great-grand children and four sisters, with many relatives and a host of friends to mourn her sudden departure. She united with the Old German Baptist church early in life and lived a devoted Christian until she was called from service to rest. During her sickness she endure her sufferings patiently, never murmuring, only waiting for the "Master's call" and for the peaceful rest of which she spoke to us so often. but we find comfort in the knowledge that our heavenly Father's care is over all his work, and precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of "His Saints". For such as she is the comfort of the Rod and Staff, even down through the valley of the shadow of death, and His loving presence would guard her home, where there is on more death, neither sorrow nor crying, never any more pain, for the formal things are passed away. She is gone, our gifted mother, In the spirit land to dwell. Words of parting have been spoken Sadly as a last farewell. She who gladdened long the household: With her loving words of cheer. Passed the gate of life eternal Never more to mingle here. Farewell, mother, rarely gifted, Cheer and comfort to supply In the house hold we shall miss her, As the years go trailing by. Yet we hope again to meet here In some fair celestial zone, Where hope's sky if never clouded And sad partings are unknown. Written by grand daughters LuLu and Carrie Good.
