Locke, favorably known among the resort-going public and hotel men in the United States and Canada, has associated himself with Robert B. Wardwell in the management of Lincoln House, Swampscott, Mass. for the coming season. Mr. Locke was connected with the house in 1902. This is the 45th season of the Lincoln House and Mr. Wardwell's connection with it. It is one of the finest locations on the New England coast and has always been successful. It lives half way from the queer peninsula of Nahant to the rock-bound headlands of historic Marblehead, joining hands with Lynn, the busy City of Shoes. Messrs. Wardwell and Locke are forming a company for the purpose of erecting a modern, strictly fire-proof and sanitary perfect resort hotel on the present site and propose to begin operations at the close of the present season. The proposed hotel will be of reinforced concrete construction containing over 300 rooms, private baths and modern hotel accessories." -The Christian Science Monitor 01 May 1909
