In 1947 Rev. Robert E. Kieffer was living in Schuylkill Haven, PA. He was former pastor of the Richmond and Raubsville Methodist Churches. In 1967 he was living in Philadelphia, PA. Kieffer, 70, Bartonsville, died yesterday in the General Hospital of Monroe County. Born in Easton, he was the son of the late Robert E. and Lizzie Kieffer. He was a minister in the Philadelphia Conference of the Methodist Church. He retired five years ago after serving churches in Monroe County, the Philadelphia area, Lebanon, Shenandoah and Schuylkill Haven. He served as a chaplain in Gen. George S. Patton's army during World war II. He was a member of the board of Visiting Nurses, MORA club and the American Association of Retired Persons. Surviving are his widow, the former Florence Lewis, a daughter, Mrs. Joanne Bowman, East Stroudsburg; three sisters, Mrs. Helen Roberts, Mrs. Florence Richenbach and Miss Frances Kieffer, all of Easton; a brother, William Kieffer, Baraboo, Wis., and five grandchildren. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Stroudsburg Methodist Church. Interment will be in the Northampton Memorial Shrine, Palmer Township. The William R. Thomas Funeral Home, Stroudsburg, is in charge of arrangements.
