"Express-Times", Easton, PA, Saturday, 16 December 2000. Page B-04: Joanne Bowman -- married 43 years Joanne R. Bowman, 65 of East Stroudsburg died Thursday, Dec. 14 in her home. She was a bookkeeper for several local businesses including W.T. Grants, Monroe Security, Lombardo and Lipe and Stroud Ford.

Born Oct. 9, 1935 in Philadelphia she was a daughter of the late Rev. Robert E. and Florence C. Lewis Kieffer. She resided in the area for 30 years. She was a member of the Cherry Valley United Methodist Church where she served as a secretary and organist. She and her husband, Henry "Hank" observed their 43rd wedding anniversary this year.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Robert of East Stroudsburg; four daughters, Christine Wood in Conway, Conn., Cynthia Copeland in Warrenville, Ill., Cheryl Steimer of East Stroudsburg, and Barbara Ascenzio in Marion, Iowa; five grandchildren and several cousins and aunts. A son, Franklin died in 1983.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Dec 30 in the Cherry Valley United Methodist Church. Cremation was in the H. G. Smith Crematory in Stroudsburg. The William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main St. in Stroudsburg is in charge. The family requests memorials to Visiting Nurse Association Hospice of Monroe County, 502 Independence Road, East Stroudsburg, PA 18301
