Obituary provided by Robert P. Eldredge, published in "Long Island Daily Press" Seaford -- Services are to be held this evening for Robert Everett Jackson Jr., 67, a descendant of two of the earliest settlers of Long Island and a long-time resident of Seaford, who died Saturday in East Rockaway. Jackson was at the home of his sister, Rose Krull, in East Rockaway, the community where he lived most of his early life, when he suffered a heart attack Saturday. Jackson, who was retired from his position as credit manager with Liberty Mutual Insurance Co., in Lynbrook, moved to Seaford in 1954. According to his son, (LIVING), a Robert Jackson was among the first settlers of Hempstead, a group of which came from Connecticut in 1644. In addition, John Seaman is listed in a local history as one of the first settlers granted a charter from the Dutch. One of Jackson's sones married a Seaman daughter. Both Seaman and Jackson are listed as two of the earliest and largest landholders in the Wantagh area. Other survivors include his wife, (LIVING); two sons, (LIVING); a daughter (LIVING) and six grandchildren. Services 8 PM at Lawrence D. Rouse Wantagh Funeral Home; burial 10 AM tomorrow in Pinelawn Memorial Park, Pinelawn.
