link Robert Goodale of Dennington shown here was erroneously proposed to be the father of Robert Goodale of Salem, MA by George E Williams in A genealogy of the descendants of Robert Goodale/Goodell of Salem, Mass West Hartford, Conn. (West Hartford, CT: 1984). This Robert did have a son named Robert bp on 16 Aug 1601, however, he died young and a second son named Robert was bp 17 Mar 1611/2. The second son is too old to be the immigrant. Therefore this Robert is not the father of Robert of Salem, MA.
