CHILLICOTHE -- Robert J. Gallup, 79, of 21529 Blue Ridge Road died at 12:29 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, 1997, at Proctor Hospital in Peoria.
Born Aug. 20, 1918, in Chillicothe to Roy and Harriet Wait Gallup, he married Marjorie Howard on Jan. 14, 1982, in Chillicothe. She survives.
Also surviving are one stepdaughter, Barb Freeman of Cuba; one brother, Everett of O'Fallon, Mo.; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Two brothers and one grandson preceded him in death.
He farmed in the Chillicothe area, retiring in 1981. He was a 50-year member of Lawn Ridge Masonic Lodge 415; Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Peoria; and Mohammed Temple Shrine in Peoria.
He also was a member of Blue Ridge Methodist Church in Chillicothe.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Davison-Fulton Anderson Chapel. The Rev. Mike Robison will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the chapel, with a Masonic service at 8 p.m.
Burial will be in Blue Ridge Cemetery.
