Obituary

"Robert E. Farmer, 71, had been Mooresville Town Board president.

Mooresville, Ind. Robert Edward Farmer, 71, Mooresville, past president of the Mooresville Town Board, died Dec. 3. He worked 39 years for Indianapolis Power & Light Co., retiring in 1989 as assistant to the senior engineer. A Republican, Mr. Farmer served three terms on the Town Board, from 1960 to 1968 and from 1983 to 1986. He was a member of Mooresville First United Methodist Church and a 50-year member of both the American Legion and Mooresville Masonic Lodge. Mr. Farmer was also past president of Mooresville Lions Club and a former member of the Mooresville Volunteer Fire Department. He was an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Services will be at 2 p.m. Dec. 5 in Carlisle & Son Funeral Chapel, with calling from 2 to 8 p.m. Dec. 4. Burial will be in Mooresville Cemetery. Survivors: wife Mary Eileen Milner Farmer; children Larry E., Paul W. "Bill," Lesley D., Cyndi M. Farmer; three grandchildren; a great-granddaughter."
