Buffalo Courier Express, 12 May 1930: HIGH VOLTAGE ELECTROCUTED OLEAN LINEMAN / Charge jumps from live line to dead ones on which victim was working / An inducted electric charge which seeped from wires nearby onto two dead high voltage transmission lines yesterday killed Robert Durgee, 38 years old, of Olean. The accident occurred on the Savage RD, near Olean, while Durgee was employed with a large group of men in repairing lines. According to the Niagara, Lockport & Ontario Power Company, the victim was electrocuted by a charge which jumped from live wires into two heavy lines from which the power had been shut off... Dr. Francis Kujawa, medical examiner, investigated. He reported that workmen got Durgee's body down from the line tower and worked over him for three hours without success. The only burn found on Durgee was a small one on his right index finger. A certificate of accidental death was issued by Dr. Kujawa
