Wife Joan de Weston was the daughter of Richard de Weston, he the son of Sir Hugh de Weston, who fought in the baron's wars, and his second wife, Sarah de Stretton. Sir Hugh was Lord of Weston and Newton in Staffordshire.

    Robert de Throckmorton, son of Simon, in the 4th year of the reign of Edward II, obtained a dispensation from the Bishop of Worcester, 1275. In 1299 Robert was holding three virgates of land in Throckmorton, and also 2 1/2 hides for which he had to defend the manor of Fladbury from suit at the County Court. Robert was living in 1315-16.
    Robert de Throckmorton who, in 1333-4, settled four messuages and also land in Throckmorton upon his son John, and Maud his wife, with remainder to his other children: Nicholas, Sybil, Alice and Joan. during the 7th year in the reign of Edward III.
    Robert had issue two sons: John and Giles, etc. The manor of Throckmorton itself seems to have passed to his son Giles, for a messuage and two carucates of land in Throckmorton settled in 1341-2 upon Giles and his wife Agnes, and their sons: Robert, John, Thomas and Richard in tailmale in the 15 year of the reign of Edward III.
