Parents of Robert Bogle: Robert BOGLE, 2nd of Shettleston (b. 1649 Shettleston House, chr 13dec1649) married Bessie BOGLE (b. 1662 Bogleshole House, Glasgow) (information, K. Smith, rootsweb). Robert and Elizabeth/Bessie (1662-1743, daughter of George Bogle of Glasgow (d. 1707) and Jean Park) married in 1680 (stirnet). They married 13dec1682.. Bessie d. 10sep1743, aged 81; she was probably dau of William Bogle, elder, merchant in Glasgow, owner of a part of Bogleshole, and not of George Bogle, as stated in "Old country houses" (Old Glasgow Exhibition, notes and queries). Robert was son of Robert Bogle (chr 28sep1624 Glasgow, died jan 1673) whose father was of Bogleshole House (K. Smith). Their children: 

            F        Elizabeth BOGLE was b feb1688 at Shettleston House and chr 21feb1688 at Glasgow. Elizabeth married Thomas YUILLE (b. 24sep1681 Darleith House, Cardross, Dunbartonshire) (Information,  K. Smith, R. Kelly).
            M       Robert BOGLE, 3rd of Shettleston, was born 1690 at Shettleston House, chr 13apr1690 at Glasgow and died 24mar1736 (Old Glasgow Exhibition, notes and queries) and was buried 26mar1736 at St. David’s Church, Glasgow (R. Kelly). Robert married (1) 1712 Jean CARLYLE and (2) Agnes STEWART (K. Smith). Agnes Stewart was daughter of Sir Archibald Stewart of Blackhall (stirnet).

A portrait of Archibald Bogle (1730-1812), 2nd son of Robert Bogle of Shettleston and Agnes (daughter of Sir Archibald Stewart of Blackhall) was lent to Old Glasgow Exhibition by Archibald Hamilton Donald, 8 Blythswood Sq. Archibald Bogle married Janet, daughter of Hugh Cathcart and Helen Wardrop (Exhibition catalogue).
