Will Transcript

In the name of God Amen. I Robert Armstrong of the county of Lincoln and State of North Carolina being weak of body but of sound mind and memory. Blessed be god for his Mercy. I do make Constitute and ordain this my Last Will and Testament in the following Manner and form. I assign my soul to God who gave it in hopes of a joyful Resurrection the sign of a Merciful Redeemer and my Body I Recommend to the Earth to be buried in a decent and Christian manner at the Discretion of my Executors hereafter Named.
And as to my worldly Estate Wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me with in this life I dispose of in this manner. the following manner ~
I do Allow this plantation that I am Now living on Containing two Hundred acres of land be the same more or less to Hugh Ewing and Sarah Ewing ~
Item. I do Allow my Negroes Will and Silve and Ceafer Unto Hugh Ewing and Sarah Ewing.
Item. I do Allow my granddaughter Agness Beaty Armstrong her raising and schooling to be paid out of my Estate ~
Item. I do allow all the Remainder of my property to Hugh Ewing and Sarah Ewing.
Lastly I ordain and Appoint Hugh Ewing to be my whole and sole Executor of my Estate.
Publishing and Renouncing this and no other to be my last will and Testament.

The foregoing Will of Robert Armstrong dec'd was produced on the trial of the Caveat against the same upon the open joined whereon Hugh Ewing the Executor thereof was plaintiff & Joseph Beaty guardian of Agness B. Armstrong the defendant & which was proved by Robert Sloan & Wm Beath the subscribing Witnesses thereto, and found by a jury of good & lawful men (sworn & charged to by said issue) to be the last Will & Testament of Robt. Armstrong dec'd.
