The first generation Yeaton was Richard Yeaton, who was born prior to 1660 in Isles of Shoals and Newcastle, New Hampshire. He possibly married Hannah Davis about 1685. Richard died in 1732. Jones claims that his wife is Hannah Davis, daughter of Roger. This based on the fact that a Hannah Yeaton was named in a warrant on Star Island in 1693/4 and the quitclaim deed of Richard Yeaton to John Davis NHPD 9:151. Extensive search in England did not turn up his origin.

RICHARD Yeaton was in the Isles of Shoals by 1683 perhaps he or his son in Newcastle 1708 (taxed) had wife Hannah by at least 1693-4. She is thought to be Hannah Davis. In 1711 John Davis sold him a home on Star Island and Administration on the estate of Richard Yeaton of the Shoals was granted to sons John and Samuel on 10 Aug. 1732 [See also NHSP 32:443 ].
