Whitney: The Descendants of John Whitney, p. 30, but note that that source gives death as 15 Dec 1723. 25 Dec 1723 is after the will was already proved so clearly incorrect. 15 Dec 1723 may be an attempt to adjust for the calendar shift (though should be 11 days in 1700s) or may be a misreading of gravestone which says 5 Dec 1723? Or it may be sloppiness by Pierce since he also says the will was dated 22 Dec 1723, i.e., after the death date he gives, and actual date was 2 Dec 1723.]

Yeoman being aged as also under great Infirmity & Indispostion of Body not knowing how It may pleas God [to] deal with me", dated 2 Dec 1723, proved 23 Dec 1723, names eldest son Richard Whitney; second son Jonathan Whitney; youngest son Joshua Whitney; eldest daughter Hannah Farr; daughter Elisabeth Wetherbee; daughter Sarah Whitney; daughter Ruhamah Whitney; youngest daughter Hephzibeth Whitney. Two eldest sons Richard & Jonathan to be executors.
