28 Sep 1916 Douglas County Press - PALMARIA POINTERS: J. R. Shepherd and Orville returned home Thursday from near Ione where Dick has bought land. They came for their stock and left. While the neighborhood is sorry to lose a good farmer, we all wish him well in his new home.



JAMES RICHARD SHEPHERD James Richard Shepherd, 86, formerly of Wenatchee and Cashmere, died Saturday at Ferndale.

He operated a transfer business here in the early years. He was a member of Central Christian Church.

Surviving are: two daughters, Mabel Sparks, Bellingham; and Leona Schillereff, Seattle; two sons Lester Shepherd, Bingen and Ralph Shepherd, Sunnymede, Calif.; six sisters including Lucille Sonney, Orond, and Mrs. Peter Stevenson, Wenatchee: 11 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Moles Funeral Home, Ferndale, is in charge of arrangements.
