Two of his grandchildren, Martha and Thomas Hewson, in 1841 are living with him and his wife and two relative, possible children and a family named Armstrong which might be a married daughter.

The census does not give the name of the pub, it was probably the Cross Keys or the Half Moon, both of which were run by John Hewson in 1811, both seem to have gone now although there is a Half Moon Lane.[3]
