Richard (Dick) J. Luman, 86, Findlay, passed away Friday morning, May 5, 2006, in the Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center. He was born May 30, 1919, in Fostoria, to Allen J. and Viola (Brown) Luman. He is survived by his wife Mildred A. Spencer, whom he married on Oct. 12, 1940 in Fostoria. He served 30 months in the armed services in a fighter command in Ipswich, England. He also was a supervisor at Union Carbide Corp. in Fostoria, retiring in 1981 after 40 years. Richard was a member of the High Street United Methodist Church in Fostoria.

Richard is survived by two daughters, Sandra K. (John) Powell of Powell and Linda L. Luman-Carrel of Findlay. Also surviving are three grandsons, a granddaughter and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Stella Atwell, Alfreda Kiser, Gertrude Bost and Atha Whittaker. Visitation will be from 10:30 -11:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2006, at the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, with funeral services beginning at 11:30 a.m. at Interment Fountain Cemetery in Fostoria. Memorials may be made to the High Street United Methodist Church or the Hancock CO Humane Society.
