'Richard Jenks, of the parish of Clun and nearby Hobendred and Kennerton, gentleman, was born circa 1535 (aged about 80 in 1615), died between 24 Sept. and 1 Dec. 1623, the respective dates of the signing and probating of his will.'
His daughter Joan, who married John Middleton and had children, predeceased Richard.
Richard's will mentioned many people besides his grandchildren, including "the two sonnes of my cosen Jonas Jenks of London, deceased, called Jonas and Joshua or by what other names they are called" and "John Jenke late of London and now of Clunbury" and "my cozn William Jenks of London ... if he be living".
