    William Jenks, Collector, who was taxed at Clunbury and Brompton in 1524 is speculated to be the father of John Jenks of Clunbury and Hugh Jenks of Clun, since the will of Hugh's son Richard mentioned a John Jenks of Clunbury.

    Hugh's birth year is estimated to be 1510-15, based on the birth of his son Richard about 1535.
