"[2134R] Richard Hardier, (Hardier/Hardire/Hardiar. This name is not Harding), was made freeman May 10, 1648, the earliest record of him found. He evidently came from Co. Suffolk in England as he seems to be allied both by blood and by location here with the group which came from Sudbury Co., Suffolk and vicinity in England, such as Robert Parmenter, Martin Saunders, Simon Ray, Richard Brackett etc. who all lived near present School St. in Quincy.
