Richard Hall, a son of William Hall, was born in Westmoreland County, VA November 21, 1785 and died in Lewis County VA (WV) June 16, 1855. He moved to Louden County VA with his father in 1793. He came to Westfield, Harrison County VA, now Lewis County WV about 1806 with his brother William and his brother-in-law, Smith Gibson. He married Mary Bailey December 21, 1809. Mary, a daughter of John and Frances Anne (Jones) Bailey, was born in VA about 1791 and died in Lewis County October 20, 1854. They lived in Westfield for a short while, then settled on the head of McCans Run. They lived there until their deaths. Richard died very suddenly. He had gone to Jane Lew, bought a paper and sat down under a tree to read and later was found dead. Both Richard Hall and his wife professed religion early in life, joined the Methodist Episcopal Church, and lived honorable members until their death. ...
