↑ Neal died on the Sunday moring that began Spring Break from school. He had gone to bed the previous night with the flu. Apparently, several times during the night, he awoke and took aspirin in an effort to feel a little better. His spleen was removed when he was 6 years old and, without the spleen to filter his blood, he excessive aspirin put him into a coma and he died just about 2 hours later. His Death Certificate lists a heart attack as the cause of death and that it was instantaneous.
Neal was quite an accomplished artist at the age of 15. He spoke of being a cartoonist. Had he lived - no doubt in my mind that he would have been successful as one.
