--GaleB 18:32, 24 May 2011 (EDT)Richard appears on the Somerset Co., MD tax lists between 1723 and 1734. In 1732 he sold his inheritance, 350 acres of Kinsale, to his brother Moses. Somerset County Land Records, Liber AZ, pg. 47, Grantor: RICHARD DRISKILL, planter. Grantee: MOSES DRISKILL, planter Aug 8, 1732 Whereas Dennis Driskill did by his last will and testament give to his son Richard Driskill all that tract or parcel of land called "King Sale" lying back in the woods from the Wicomico River as patent may appear more fully, now this indenture further witnesseth that the said Richard for the sum of 60 pounds current money of Maryland sells to Moses all that tract of land called "Kingsale" beginning at a marked red oak standing near a path leading to John Jenner's (?) thence. . .to a marked gum near the side and head of a branch thence. . .to a marked sapling oak near the side of a swamp and to the east of a savanna thence to the 1st bounder cont. and now laid out for 350 acres. Signed: Richard Driskell Wit: Levin Gale, Matthias Gale Then came: Richard Driskill and acknowledged the above deed to be the right of the said Moses. In 1744 a Richard Driskill appears on the tax list of Northampton Co., VA. The last record I have is from the estate of Richard Allen, merchant of Worcester Co., MD. In his probate, dated 1749, there are two separate lists of debtors; one for MD and one for VA. On the VA list is: Richard Driskall. |
