Facts and Events
Received as an inhabitant of Salem on 29 Oct 1638, and granted land there on 12 Nov 1638 and 26 Nov 1638. He joined the church in 1644. In 1667, he was one of the founders of the First Church at Beverly. Not especially active in town affairs. Gave generously to Harvard College in 1653. Donated part of his land to what was later called the cemetery at Dodge Row. His will names his sons and wife Edith. His estate was valued at the large sum of £1764. His will refers to a brother Michael in England, and that combined with the wills of john Dodge in Somerset and Essex County deeds identify his origins.S5 References
